Introduction to Gender and Society is a course through which students will explore the social construction of gender. The gender issues and experiences in a local and global context will expose students to gender stereotypes and myths which impact women’s and men’s lives. This course is designed to discuss and investigate the relationship between gender roles and society; i.e., how gender roles are socially constructed, maintained, and enacted. The course also explores gender differences, similarities, and gender issues in the society.
